Dodger Stadium has been known as just that for nearly 50 years. But at least one party bidding on the Dodgers team has inquired about the possibility of selling naming rights to Dodger Stadium.
The Los Angeles Times reports that it is unclear whether the inquiry came from bidders still in contention.
The investment bank brokering the sale of the team has included naming rights among what it calls the “value creation opportunities.”
One sports business analyst says a new owner would be wise to at least consider a naming rights deal for the iconic ballpark, but wiser still not to make any immediate move in that direction.
