Cervical cancer deaths higher in black women

Why do more black women die of cervical cancer than white women? AP correspondent Ross Simpson reports on a new study that may shed some light on that disparity.

Only certain strains of HPV cause cervical cancer and brief infections are very common in young women. They usually go away on their own within a year or so and only pose a cancer risk when they last long-term.
