No charges in death of Calif. girl, 10, after fight
(AP) – Police in Long Beach, Calif., say prosecutors have declined to file charges in the death of a 10-year-old girl after a fight with a schoolmate earlier this year.
The Police Department said in a statement Wednesday that the Feb. 24 death of Joanna Ramos was a “fight between two children that ended with unintended and tragic results,” but that no crimes was committed.
Joanna died at a hospital about six hours after she tussled with another girl in an alley near her elementary school.
The name of her opponent has not been made public.
