In just more than a decade, the Newport Beach Film Festival, which is set to open with a red carpet event tonight featuring Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Tom Arnold, has gone from drawing 13,000 moviegoers in its first year to 52,000 last year.
The festival will begin with a red-carpet event and the world premiere of “Jewtopia,” a comedy of errors based on the off-Broadway play about two childhood friends who team up as adults to snag the women of their dreams. It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jon Lovitz, Rita Wilson, Nicolette Sheridan and Arnold.
CEO and co- founder Greg Schwank joined KFWB’s Phil Hulett and Penny Griego this morning.
KFWB listeners will receive $5.00 off full-price films screening before 5pm when tickets are purchased online. Go to www.NewportBeachFilmFest.com and enter the discount code, KFWBNBFF, at checkout. The festival will run through May 3.
