6th discarded pipe bomb found in Palm Springs
(AP) – A sixth discarded pipe bomb has been found on a Palm Springs street. The pipe bomb found on Saturday morning was the latest explosive device found in five days in northern Palm Springs. A jogger found the device outside a home.
Federal agents have now joined the investigation and a $15,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
The devices were safely disabled and no one has been hurt.
The Desert Sun of Palm Springs says the six-inch pipe bombs are made of metal or plastic piping and they contain explosive material.
A 91-year-old man found the first device on May 8. He spotted a second bomb on Thursday and police officers found two more nearby. A fifth pipe bomb was found that afternoon.
