You know you are not supposed to text while driving. But now, in one New Jersey city, you can’t text while walking.
Fort Lee Jersey police have started issuing $85 jaywalking tickets to anyone caught texting while walking. The town of 35,000 has suffered three fatal pedestrian-involved accidents this year.
The police chief hopes this crackdown will make the town safer.
More than 117 tickets have been issued since officers began aggressive enforcement last month.
