Have you ever thought about how much bacteria is swimming around in those playgrounds at fast food restaurants?
Yesterday the State Assembly approved a bill that would expand food safety laws to cover both indoor and outdoor playgrounds. Under the bill, restaurants would be required to post signs informing customers that food is not allowed on play structures and to provide copies of inspection and cleaning plans.
The bill’s sponsor says research shows that restaurant playgrounds can be breeding grounds for illness-causing bacteria and are not always well-maintained. AB1513 now goes to the Senate.
