Typhus scare in the OC
Some feral cats could lose their lives in an effort to reduce the chance of typhus spreading in Orange County. The flea-borne disease turned up in a human recently and public health officials have decided to trap wild cats living around two Santa Ana schools to cut the chances of anyone getting the bacterial infection. Typhus is treatable with antibiotics, but it can be deadly if left untreated.
