(CNS) – The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation awarded grants totaling $100,000 to 27 civic, educational and cultural organizations, including seven first-time recipients, the foundation announced today.
The nonprofit Tournament of Roses Foundation aids charities in the Pasadena area by funding sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, and volunteer motivation and leadership development programs. The grants range from $1,400 to $10,000 and help support new and ongoing programs that benefit all age groups, according to the foundation.
Some of the grant recipients include Academy of Music for the Blind, College Access Plan, Pasadena Museum of History, Pasadena Police Foundation and Special Olympics San Gabriel Valley Region. The grants will go toward personnel, materials, scholarships and other necessities for the programs.
The grants were awarded during a foundation reception May 23 at the Tournament House in Pasadena.
