(AP) – Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responding to a stove-top fire have discovered a ton of marijuana in a Southern California condominium.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Mendoza says deputies and firefighters forced their way into the smoke-filled Norwalk condo on Thursday evening and found food burning on the stove.
No one was in the condo.
A news release says marijuana could be seen in several rooms of the condo and deputies obtained a search warrant. Investigators say the seized 2,000 pounds of pot has a street value of more than $6 million. There are no arrests.
