(AP) – The Twitter dog of Dublin has been returned. A Jack Russell terrier named Patch jumped aboard an Irish Rail train in rural Kilcock and arrived in Dublin with morning commuters yesterday. Irish Rail sent a “Lost dog!” tweet, and it got more than 500 retweets in 32 minutes. Owner Deirdre Anglin says the rapid retweets put the alert on her radar. An Irish Rail spokesman says Twitter was ideal for sending out a nationwide appeal about the dog. Ireland is a tech-savvy country where cell phones were the norm long before the U.S. Anglin took Patch home on the train and she says fellow travelers kept asking, “Is that the dog from Twitter?”
