Feds clear LA police of airport overcharging
(AP) – Federal investigators say there’s no evidence that the Los Angeles Police Department misappropriated millions of dollars that it received for law enforcement services at Los Angeles International Airport.
The Los Angeles Times says the Federal Aviation Administration announced results of its investigation on Thursday.
A complaint filed last year claimed that the LAPD spent airport funds it received on police services unrelated to LAX security. That’s a potential violation of federal regulations. The complaint was filed by the Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers Association. It represents more than 400 airport police who share law enforcement duties with LA city police.
