(AP) – As Mitt Romney sees it, President Barack Obama is pushing economic ideas that have been tried and have failed.
But Obama says the same thing about Romney, as each one promises to revive the economy in the aftermath of today’s jobs report.
It shows that the economy gained just 80,000 jobs in June as the unemployment rate stayed at 8.2 percent. Obama concedes, “It’s still tough out there.” He says today’s jobs report could have been better — though he noted that the private sector jobs created in June contributed to 4.4 million new jobs over the past 28 months.
That’s not enough, says Romney — who told reporters in New Hampshire that Obama’s policies “have not gotten America working again.”
