Activist says Christianity is changing China
(AP) – The Rev. Bob Fu says Chinese Christians are opposing their government’s one-child policy.
The founder and president of China Aid testified at a House subcommittee hearing in Washington chaired by Congressman Chris Smith. The New Jersey Republican, who opposes abortion, said China’s one-child policy has produced “broken women and dead babies” in a country where it’s illegal to have a brother or sister.
But Bob Fu said Christianity has helped the Chinese people to resist a government he described as politically and morally corrupt. The China Aid president said he believes the Christian faith will eventually transform China into a nation that promotes peace and justice.
