(CNS) – Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss was being treated at a hospital today for dehydration.
“In response to media inquiries and to dispel rumors and inaccurate reports, we’d like to state that Dr. Buss is in a local hospital where he is being treated for dehydration,” Lakers spokesman John Black said. “He is recovering and is expected to be released soon.”
According to TMZ, the 78-year-old Buss “fell ill at his home around 9 p.m. (Monday), and someone inside the house called 911.”
Buss, who has owned the Lakers since 1979, was hospitalized in December for treatment of blood clots in his legs. Officials said the clots were likely the result of extensive traveling.
