(AP) – Los Angeles police say a protest that turned into a bottle-throwing confrontation downtown has ended with 20 arrests and four officers hurt.
Officer Norma Eisenman says protesters showed up at the monthly Art Walk on Thursday night and began using chalk to write on the sidewalk and buildings.
Officers in riot gear stepped in and during a clash some were struck by glass bottles. One officer suffered a concussion.
Some protesters reportedly also were hurt as police used beanbag rounds, batons and other non-lethal force to disperse the crowd.
