Ark. man pleads guilty in teenage girl's death
(AP) – A convicted rapist has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the killing of a 16-year-old Arkansas girl he met online. Lloyd Jones appeared in court Wednesday and entered his plea in the death of Angela Allen. Authorities said Allen’s body was found inside a blue, plastic barrel on land owned by Jones’ brother in western Arkansas. The 36-year-old also pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse and other charges.
Authorities say Jones told investigators he was making out with Allen but pushed her into the Arkansas River when she told him her age. An autopsy showed she was strangled.
Allen left home Feb. 10. Her body was found in a blue, plastic barrel a week later.
Jones was convicted of rape in 2001 and paroled in 2008.
