Man locks self in airplane cockpit
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Officials say a man locked himself in an airplane cockpit in Baton Rouge but later surrendered to law enforcement. Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport spokesman Jim Caldwell said Wednesday that passenger Andrew Alessi forced his way past two American Eagle agents onto a plane around noon. He ran down the jet way and locked himself in the cockpit.
Caldwell said police cut the external power source to the plane so Alessi couldn’t start the aircraft. He says the flight headed to Dallas/Fort Worth was canceled and passengers were compensated.
