Paltrow, Roberts, Swift set for cancer telethon
LOS ANGELES (AP) – An A-list cast of celebrities is joining a telethon to raise money and awareness to fight cancer.
Paltrow also is an executive producer for the fundraiser that will be carried commercial-free by the four major broadcast networks and more than a dozen cable channels. Musical performances by Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw are planned, and celebrities will be on hand to take phone pledges.
The telethon comes a year after the founder of Stand Up to Cancer, “Spider-Man” movie producer Laura Ziskin, lost her life to the disease at age 61. The telethon airs Sept. 7.
