LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Operators of the Los Angeles County emergency operation system announced today they are seeking people to give their email addresses and cellphone numbers for the Alert LA County mass notification system.

Cellphone numbers and email addresses can be registered at alert.lacounty.gov. The system has landline phone numbers, but not cellphone numbers or email addresses.

The system is geographically based. When a disaster happens, alerts are sent to those in the areas involved.
