HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK, Hawaii (AP) – The United States Mint is unveiling a new quarter depicting a Hawaii volcano eruption.

A ceremony will be held Wednesday at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where the public will be able to exchange cash for $10 rolls of the newly minted coins.

An image depicting an eruption on the east rift of Kilauea volcano is the fourth coin in the United States Mint’s “America the Beautiful Quarters Program.”

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park was the 11th national park created in the country. The Big Island‘s Kilauea volcano has been continuously erupting since 1983.

The quarter is designed and sculpted by artist Charles Vickers.
