SEAL BEACH (CNS) – Seal Beach police warned residents to beware of burglars who take advantage of open windows during hot spells.
Two residential burglaries took place in the city’s Old Town section during the nighttime hours Wednesday, said Seal Beach police Lt. Bob Mullins. In both cases, the burglars cut open screens of open windows, reached inside and stole what they could grab, he said.
“Residents are encouraged to utilize alternative means to cool their homes and to secure their valuables so that they are not readily accessible to opportunistic criminals,” Mullins said.
Anyone with information about the burglaries was asked to call Seal Beach Cpl. Dave Barr at (562) 700-4100, extension 1110.
