PANORAMA CITY (CNS) – Authorities today released the name of a man struck by several vehicles on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway while running in and out of traffic.
Shawn Warren Knox, 41, died at the scene of the collision, which occurred about 9:15 p.m. Sunday, just south of the Nordhoff exit in Panorama City, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Patrick Kimball.
Knox, whose hometown was not released, “for unknown reasons was running westbound on the 405 in and out of traffic,” according to a CHP statement. “Several vehicles were unable to avoid striking him.”
All lanes of the southbound freeway were shut down just south of Nordhoff for about an hour, Kimball said.
