Wine tasting for a good cause
Los Angeles Kings TV commentator and Kings alumnus Jim Fox will be hosting the second annual “Sunset Sip” wine tasting reception at the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach on Thursday, September 20.
Wines from the Napa, Sonoma, Santa Barbara and Paso Robles regions will be poured in a benefit for The Guidance Center, an organization that provides mental health care to more than 2,000 children and families each year in Long Beach, Compton, Lynwood, San Pedro and Avalon on Catalina Island. The festivities will include a wine tasting contest, food, silent auction and an artwork display.
A highlight of the silent auction items includes vacations to wine country, Palm Springs, Catalina Island, Lake Arrowhead, and Las Gaviotas in Mexico. Tickets to sporting events, golfing, restaurants, attend a taping of Dancing With The Stars, and many other fun activities will also be on the auction list. Individual tickets are $100 each, couples are $175. There are only 250 total tickets available for this event, which is expected to once again completely sell out.
