The world champion Miami Heat took advantage of 25 Los Angeles Clipper turnovers and cruised to a 94 to 80 victory on Thursday night at the MasterCard Center in Beijing.The Heat jumped out to a 16 to 4 lead and led by as many as 27 points during the second quarter. Miami made 11 three pointers on the night and was led by LeBron James 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 19 points, 13 of them in a stellar third quarter. Jamal Crawford scored 16 off the bench to go along with the 19 he scored in the Clippers pre-season opener against Denver. Caron Butler scored 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting with eight of his points coming during the first quarter. The Clippers went 11-27 from the free throw line (41%) including a 1-10 showing by DeAndre Jordan.
The Clippers, who are now 0-2 on the pre-season, will face Miami again at the Mercedes Benz Arena on Sunday afternoon in Shanghai Arena. It will be broadcast on KFWB and the Clippers Radio Network on Saturday night in the Pacific Time Zone, with pre-game coverage beginning at 9 p.m. and tip-off just after 9:30 p.m.
