(CNS) – Costa Mesa Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer is criticizing Caltrans for plans to close sections of the Corona del Mar Freeway Saturday and Sunday to allow filming of “Hangover 3.” Righeimer called the closure “outrageous.”
There’s been no response from Caltrans. The state agency has a policy of doing everything it can to accommodate movie shoots, which generate jobs in California.
The southbound 73 Freeway in Corona del Mar will be shut down from the 405 south to the 55 Freeway from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
On Sunday, the southbound side of the freeway will be closed from the 55 Freeway interchange to Jamboree Road from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Northbound lanes of the 73 Freeway will be closed from Jamboree Road to Campus Drive from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
