NEW YORK (AP) – After trading comedic jabs at a charity dinner last night, President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are expected to return to rhetorical punches today with both headed to battleground states.
Obama is in Virginia, while his Republican rival is headed to Florida.
Meanwhile, there’s word that members of Romney’s team are already planning for the transition, should he win the election. They’ve been quietly talking to congressional leaders and government officials about legislation to avoid the fiscal cliff that could hit January 1.
Romney and Obama mostly set aside their differences to poke fun of themselves and each other Thursday night at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner in New York.
