Diesel fuel spill on the 405 Sepulveda Pass
LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A semitrailer spilled diesel fuel on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass this morning, prompting lane closures on the busy stretch, snarling traffic during the morning commute.
The spill was reported at 3:11 a.m. at Getty Center Drive, said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball. The fuel tank of the vehicle became punctured and leaked, the CHP reported.
A SigAlert was issued just before 4 a.m. and crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes were reopened about 8 a.m., said CHP Officer Ed Jacobs.
