LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Caltrans workers will need to shut down several segment of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway from Los Angeles east to Baldwin Park area Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night, workers said.
The 10 Freeway will be closed to both directions of travel between Puente Avenue and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway both late tonight and late Sunday night. The full freeway closures will be extended all the way west to the Golden State (5 Freeway in Los Angeles late Sunday night.
And on Monday night, just the section of 10 Freeway between the 5 and 605 freeways will be closed. Ramp closures and blocked lanes will begin as early as 5 p.m., and the freeway segments will be fully closed by 11 p.m. or midnight, depending on local conditions, Caltrans said.
Flatiron West Inc. has been contracted to rebuild the 1950s-era freeway and add center HOV lanes under a $165 million contract, funded partially by the Measure R transportation tax.
