PCH in Malibu reopens after gas leak shutdown
MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu has reopened after a nearly two-hour shutdown caused by a ruptured gas line.
Southern California Gas Co. spokeswoman Denise King says a construction crew installing a water main ruptured a 1-inch natural gas line Thursday morning.
Both sides of PCH were closed east of the Malibu Pier and two homes were evacuated.
King says the gas was shut off and the road reopened shortly after 11 a.m. A crew was sent to repair the line.
