The hot list of tech-related gifts
Electronics are one of the hottest categories of gift purchases this holiday season, and a new poll conducted by Kelton Global, and commissioned by coupon website RetailMeNot, found that a majority of Americans (80%) who plan to buy technology-related gifts during the holiday shopping season will spend up to $300 per person.
The winter holiday shopping season is also the best time to get the best deals on technology-related items, which explains why most consumers (58%) wait until holiday sales to purchase technology items.
What’s on consumer’s most-wanted lists this year? The poll found that a large number of people want a computer (32%) or tablet or eReader (32%), a flatscreen TV (26%), smartphone (24%) and digital camera (23%).
What’s more, the poll found that iPhones are on nearly half of consumers gift lists for most-wanted smartphone (49%), and the iPad leads the pack for most-wanted tablet or eReader (41%), followed by the Kindle (31%).
