Ex-teacher gets jail for molesting students
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) – A former Southern California school teacher has been sentenced to a year in jail and must register as a sex offender for molesting two teen students and possessing child pornography.
Orange County prosecutors say 51-year-old Alex Bassinne was also placed on three years’ probation during Tuesday’s sentencing hearing in Santa Ana.
Bassinne, who lives in Newport Beach, pleaded guilty to lewd acts upon a child and possession of child porn.
The sexual assaults took place while Bassinne was a teacher at Santa Ana High School and Raymond A. Villa Fundamental Intermediate School.
