SoCal to get rain, snow from cold storm
LOS ANGELES (AP) – A storm from the Gulf of Alaska is expected to bring rain and snow to Southern California Wednesday evening through Thursday.
The mountains of Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties are under winter weather advisories, and the National Weather Service warns that driving could be hazardous on routes such as Interstate 5 in Tejon Pass.
Anticipating icy conditions, Los Angeles County plans to close segments of Angeles Forest Highway and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Minor coastal flooding and moderate beach erosion is also possible along the San Diego County shoreline early Thursday due to the effect of winds and waves during the highest astronomical tide of the year.
