Moreno Valley student held over teacher threat
MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (AP) – A Riverside County high school student has been arrested on suspicion of threatening his teacher and authorities say they found a rifle at his home.
The county Sheriff’s Department says 18-year-old Fernando Hernandez passed a note to his teacher at Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley on Monday morning. The note reportedly implied that the student would shoot her. The teacher gave the note to the school resource officer.
Authorities say a legally purchased bolt-action rifle and a small amount of ammunition were found at the student’s home. He was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats.
