2013MayoralElectionNow that voters in Los Angeles have cast their ballots in the primary for mayor, the top two contenders are preparing to meet in a runoff election on May 21.

Mayors of the City of Los Angeles serve four-year terms, according to the city’s charter. The new mayor will take office on June 30, 2013.
