Security breach disrupts ops at John Wayne Airport
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) – A spokeswoman says a security breach delayed flights and disrupted operations at John Wayne Airport for about an hour on Saturday.
Jenny Wedge said a passenger did not show officers proper ID during an initial security screening at the Orange County airport around 6:30 a.m.
She said the passenger was asked to go through a secondary screening, but did not do so. That prompted authorities to halt all passenger screenings and operations to conduct a sweep of the airport’s three terminals.
The Orange County Register reports the airport reopened around 7:30 a.m. after authorities found the passenger, who was then rescreened and let go.
