Today on Business Rockstars, Ken Rutkowski interviews Damian Murphy, the founder of Liquified – an innovative company that has produced weekly club events with the best electronic dance music in Los Angeles for over 20 years.
Founded by Damian Murphy in Manchester, England in 1989, Liquified relocated to the US in 1992 where they would go on to pioneer an emerging international electronic music scene. Liquified produced innovative events in Miami, Orlando, Charlotte and Greensboro before setting up headquarters in Atlanta to become originators of the city’s vibrant electronic music scene. By 1995, after honing production and promotion to a craft, Liquified created Beyond, Liquified Planet and Liquified Universe, a series of popular parties that became the most talked about music events to which fans from all along the East Coast would travel to attend. In 1996, Liquified promoted star DJs Sasha and John Digweed’s first ever US tour for their critically acclaimed Northern Exposure CD series.
In 1999, Liquified expanded and re-headquartered to Los Angeles and produced a series of groundbreaking after-hours parties which cemented them as a major player in the Los Angeles music scene. Since 2006, Liquified has resided at Avalon Hollywood where their Saturday night collaboration, Avaland, continues to be regarded as the biggest and most successful weekly club event on the West Coast and has been voted one of the Top 10 Club Nights in the world by DJ Magazine.
Liquified’s consistency in working with the best DJs and producers such as Grammy Award nominated artists David Guetta, Tiesto, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris and Kaskade, as well as their ability to identify and introduce the best new talent in dance music has established Liquified as a leader in electronic music culture. Liquified has produced more than 1,000 events across the United States and entertained more than a one million fans and have more plans than ever in the pipeline.
