On Money 101 with Bob McCormick today, Dr. Sheri Feldman, Assistant Clinical Professor at the David Geffen/UCLA School of Medicine, provided this list of inexpensive supplies to have in your first aid kit:

  • Alcohol pads, when soap and water are not available
  • Band aids of different shapes and sizes
  • Poly or Neosporin antibiotic ointment
  • Gauze pads
  • White waterproof tape, good for taping anything that might get wet, or taping broken toes together
  • Ace bandage
  • Silvadene creme, or generic equivalent. This prescription cream is great for burns of any kind, including friction from sports-related injuries.
  • Ibuprofen or an anti-inflammatory of your choice, or Tylenol
  • Super glue
