From L.A.’s Morning News: Phil Hulett and Penny Griego

Don’t panic, but do you realize next Thursday is Valentines Day? Have you even begun to plan what you’re going to do or buy? Maybe you should compare notes to what people are saying nationwide.

Trae Bodge is the Senior Editor of RetailMeNot.com, where they did an interesting Valentine’s Day poll. She spoke with Penny and Phil about what Americans are planning for this holiday:

The new poll also broke down Valentine’s Day wish lists for Mars and Venus, including:

  • Men are planning to spend much more money than women ($287 vs. $164) on their significant others this Valentine’s Day
  • If money was no object, however, almost one third of men and women (28%) would give their partners a luxury vacation for Valentine’s Day.
  • Men would like to receive a meal (28%) or event tickets (19%) from their partners this Valentine’s Day, while women would opt for jewelry (24%), a trip (18%) or flowers (14%).
