TUSTIN, Calif. (AP) — The 20-year-old woman who was the first victim in a shooting rampage across Southern California was an aspiring actress who had a social media alter-ego named “Kitty Kitanna.”
The Orange County Register reported Friday that Courtney Aoki had a Facebook page under the assumed name and predicted in a 2010 YouTube video that she’d be famous in five years.
The paper reports that the Anaheim resident wasn’t successful and was planning to instead start massage school.
Police say 20-year-old Ali Syed killed Aoki on Tuesday in the home he shared with his parents and killed two more during carjackings before shooting himself in the head.
Investigators are trying to figure out how they knew each other and what Aoki was doing there.
Syed’s parents did not recognize her.
