Today on Business Rockstars, Ken Rutkowski talks with Hannah Hart, an internet personality and comedian, who is best known for starring in the weekly web series, “My Drunk Kitchen.” The winner of the 2013 Streamy Award for Best Female Performance in a Comedy, Hart’s Youtube channel, “My Harto,” has over 480,000 subscribers and 44.5 million video views.
In the Youtube series, “My Drunk Kitchen,” Hannah Hart cooks food while intoxicated. Hart came up with the show’s concept in March 2011, when she was at her sister’s home. While chatting to a friend over webcam, Hart opened up a bottle of wine and made a grilled cheese sandwich. Wanting to share the video with her friends, Hart posted it on Youtube. My Drunk Kitchen skyrocketed to success almost immediately, boasting over 3 million hits on Hart’s YouTube channel within months. Now a YouTube partner, Hart uploads new episodes every Thursday. Apart from her main channel, “MyHarto,” she also runs a second channel, “YourHarto” where she talks about life in general and gives her opinions on various matters.
Hart collaborates with other YouTube personalities, including Jenna Marbles, Grace Helbig and Hank Green. She also appeared in “the culturally defining moments of 2012″ by YouTube. In December 2012, she starred alongside John Ross Bowie in an online episode of Rainn Wilson’s Soulpancake spin-off, ‘The Flipside.’ In 2013, Hart was nominated for, and won, the Streamy Award for Best Female Performance in a Comedy.
In January 2013, Hart launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund a world tour show. Within a few hours, Hart reached her goal of $50,000 and since February 2, she has raised over $220,000. She will begin touring in April.
