SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Police are hunting for two men who allegedly stabbed and killed a man on a busy Santa Ana street.
KABC-7 reports the 26-year-old victim was first approached by two men inside an Orange County restaurant on Main Street just before 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says the suspects tried to force the victim to leave the Chile Picante restaurant, but left after an argument.
When the victim later left the restaurant, the suspects were waiting.
The three men walked to a nearby parking lot, where the victim was stabbed in broad daylight. He later died at a hospital.
Bertagna says police believe the victim was specifically targeted, but don’t yet know a motive. Police say the stabbing is not gang related.
