Today on Business Rockstars, Ken Rutkowski talks with an auto parts “nuts and bolts guy,” Greg Ramfos, who has become the kingpin of the new hot wristband that every kid wants.
The 42-year-old Michigan resident, Greg Ramfos, is the brains behind the hip ROXO accessory company that offers you the chance to create your own ROXO wristband by uploading your own Facebook or Instagram pictures to create a charm bracelet for the 21st Century. You can also choose ROXO “charms” from the 2500 designs that the company offers on it’s website. But this mega success story only happened because Ramfos, who was about to lose his family home decided to reinvent himself. He didn’t have much choice. His car parts supply company was tanking along side of the big three car companies that he did business with in 2008.
Enter his 9-year-old daughter, Tori. In 2010, the little girl brought home a plastic wristband that all the kids seemed to like at school. He figured he could create something better… so he did.
With a dream, some glue from a craft store, a photo printer and some aluminum, the first square ROXO was born. Two years later, you can find Disney, Marvel, Cartoon Network and NASCAR images on the ROXO squares. ROXO is on target to more than double last year’s revenue in 2013.
