Sheryl Sandberg book raises philosophical questions
Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg’s first book is about a strategy to help women in the workplace improve their career paths. In “Lean In” she encourages women to take more risk while on the job by “leaning in” to highly visible roles and responsibilities. These would include situations where the possibility of failure is more transparent, but provides the potential for a much higher payoff.
One person who is questioning Sandberg’s message is Shirley Engelmeier, the CEO of Inclusion Inc, a global consulting firm specializing in diversity within the workplace. She spoke with Penny Griego and Paul about it:
