Today on Business Rockstars, Ken Rutkowski talks with Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon Dr. Warren Stout, M.D. Named as one of the nation’s Top Doctors by U.S. News and World Report, he is the co-founder of the USC Doheny Eye Institute Refractive Laser Medical Center.
Dr. Warren C. Stout is an Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon specializing in laser eyelid rejuvenation and has performed thousands of eyelid surgeries over the past twenty-seven years. He is renowned for his personal approach and for creating a natural and refreshed appearance for each of his patients. In addition to maintaining his private practice in Pasadena, Dr. Stout is affiliated with Huntington Memorial Hospital and University of Southern California- Doheny Eye Hospital. He is also on the clinical teaching faculty of USC Keck School of Medicine.
Dr. Stout co-founded USC Doheny Eye Institute Refractive Laser Medical Center in 1992. The Center was a research facility exclusively until 1995, when it opened to outside physicians to perform Lasik. He remained on the Board of Directors for 12 years.
Dr. Stout earned his M.D. from Southern Illinois University, which he completed in just three years, after achieving his B.S. in Chemistry at the same institution. He interned in Internal Medicine at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California School of Medicine and was a resident in Ophthalmology at Los Angeles County-University Of Southern California School of Medicine USC Doheny Eye Institute, which routinely ranks in the top 10 training programs nationally by U.S. News and World Report. Dr. Stout completed his fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, a program U.S. News and World Report consistently rates as number one in the nation.
In 2012, Dr. Stout was named as one of the nation’s Top Doctors by U.S. News and World Report. He has also been recognized by Pasadena Magazine as a Top Doctor for five years running, from 2008 – 2012.
Dr. Stout sits on the Board of Directors for a medical device company, Nivasonix, and an Internet gaming start up, FantaZ. He is launching a new company, Doctors Lifeline Skin Care Dubai, in August 2012.
A man of many interests, Dr. Stout is currently working towards obtaining his private pilot’s license and is one of the few non-faculty members invited to be in the Aero Association of the California Institute of Technology. He is an avid traveler and in the past year has visited Italy, Russia, England, Mexico, Argentina, and Cuba (on a U.S. State Department sanctioned trip).
