An active shooter response drill is being conducted today at Gahr High School in Cerritos between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Cerritos Sheriff’s Station and L.A. County Fire Department are involving administrators, teachers, students, and parents from the school as well as Cerritos Station Volunteers and members of the Cerritos Station Clergy Council.
The drill, which will be closed to the public, will simulate a shooting at the high school where deputies and fire personnel will respond and take simulated action. The training will incorporate gunfire and explosions. There will also be simulated injuries to role players at the school.
