2 missing, suicidal teens found safe in California
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Ventura County authorities say two missing, suicidal teenagers have been found safe in a recreational vehicle behind a friend’s house.
Sgt. Eric Buschow says 13-year-old Nicholas Marino and his 14-year-old girlfriend, Kaylee Rebert, were found about 3 p.m. Friday, some 36 hours after they were reported missing.
The teens were being interviewed Friday afternoon to find out why they ran away and what they’ve been doing while authorities scoured a regional park in the area. They also relied on social media and family and friends to help locate them.
Buschow declined to say what upset the teens, saying it is a private family matter.
He says the teens could be kept on psychiatric hold if they are suicidal or deemed to be of likely harm to others.
