Southland gasoline prices continue to drop

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today for the 35th time in 36 days, dropping six-tenths of a cent to $4.043, its lowest amount since Feb. 5.

The average price is 4.5 cents less than one week ago, 21.2 cents lower than one month ago and 24 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped 25.7 cents over the past 36 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price fell today for the 39th time in 42 days, dropping 1.1 cents to $4.013, its lowest amount since Feb. 4. It is 4.8 cents less than one week ago, 22.7 cents lower than one month ago and 24.5 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped 30.2 cents over the past 42 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday. It had risen 33 times in 34 days before the decreases began, increasing 59.7 cents.
