It’s a busy weekend with Earth Day celebrations in several locations not to mention the L.A. Times Festival of Books at USC Saturday and Sunday.

If you have e-waste to get rid of, St. Paul the Apostle School  in Westwood is collecting everything from monitors to computers to cell phones. To find out more go to St. Paul the Apostle School.

Lisa Borkavitch, environmental outreach chairperson for St. Paul the Apostle School tells us how you can clean out your unwanted junk and turn it into something positive and make some money for their school:

If a beach clean up is more your style head to Redondo Beach’s “The Sea Lab,” where they’ll  host an Earth Day program, with a beach clean-up, composting workshop and a look at new tanks and exhibits featuring Santa Monica Bay’s largest bony fish and other creatures. Sea Lab, 1021 N. Harbor Drive. Contact: Mike Mena at (310) 316-0612.

After you’ve cleaned out your garage at the ewaste collection and the beach it might be a good time to check out some books and kick back on the campus of USC  for the 18th annual Festival of Books. Visit me and Micheal Shappee as we broadcast live from the fair Saturday at 2pm.
