Lots of people have a three-day weekend so let’s make the most of it, here are a few ideas for the Memorial Day weekend!

Every weekend Veterans For Peace set up a memorial at Arlington West, located on the north side of the Santa Monica Pier.

The 40th Annual Topanga Days Celebration, L.A.’s largest, longest running bohemian festival and country fair returns with live music, gourmet, organic and downhome food and beverages. It’s at 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd, Topanga, CA 90290. Tickets for adults $20, military and TCC members $15, seniors and kids 6-12 $10, under 6 are free. To find out more go to http://www.topangadays.com/.

It should be a beautiful day to fly a kite on Saturday, May 25, in Long Beach at the “Go Fly a Kite and Build Your Own Ice Cream Sundae” from 1-3pm. Start the summer off with a fun day of ice cream sundaes and whimsical kite making at 3962 Studebaker Rd., Suite 204, Long Beach Ca 90808. (562) 270-1400. Cost is $15 per child, which includes ice cream and kite. If adults want to purchase an ice cream sundae only, it’s $5 per adult.

If you’re not an outdoorsy person, then check out the double feature of “Hendrix 70 Live at Woodstock” and “Led Zeppelin Celebration Day.” It’s at the Aero Theater, 1328 Montana Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90403.
